Today’s edition of The Missouri Review Soundbooth Podcast features an interview with author Steve Yates. Yates was recently a featured author at the Unbound Book Festival, held April 21-22 at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. His new novel, The Legend of the Albino Farm, centers on Hettienne Sheehy, and how a thriving family became saddled with an unshakable spook tale.
The Legend of the Albino Farm will be Steve Yates’ third book, published by Unbridled Books. In our chat, he discusses various elements of story writing, inspirations, how he heard of The Missouri Review, and a possible future project.
In addition to The Missouri Review, Yates has also been published in the Ontario Review, South Carolina Review, Elder Mountain: A Journal of Ozarks Studies, and Kansas Quarterly/ Arkansas Review, as well as winning the Juniper Prize in Fiction. He is currently the marketing director at University Press of Mississippi in Jackson.
