Contest Announcement
In recogniton of the generosity of Jeffrey E. Smith, of Columbia, Missouri, the Missouri Review is proud to announce that our annual Editors’ Prize contest has been renamed the Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize in Fiction, Essay, and Poetry. Thanks to Mr. Smith’s support, the Review will now offer cash prizes of $3,000 to the winner in each category–an increase of $1,000 each–and will invite the winners to Columbia in the spring to read from their work and to allow us to celebrate with them their accomplishments.
This year’s Editors’ Prize contest will be our 15th in fiction and the essay and our ninth in poetry. Three finalists in each category receive awards and are considered for publication. Past winning entries have been reprinted in the Best American series.
Complete guidelines are available here on our website. Electronic submissions are welcome as well.
Through this endeavor, the Review once again affirms its mission in support of the literary arts.
