The overall quality was extraordinarily high, making our decision a difficult one. We’ve contacted all of the winners and finalists, and we’re working hard now to get the issue to you as soon as possible. We’re also very thankful to all the writers who entered this year: we read your work with care, and had lively (but friendly!) discussions about all the poems, stories, and essays. We hope that you’ll find this issue to be as satisfying and rewarding as we did.
The Editors’ Prize issue will be out in April 2012. Thanks again to everyone – writers and editors alike – who helped to make this year’s contest so wonderful!

The Missouri Review is always looking for the best fiction, poetry, and essay, but for us to be able to find it, you have to send it to us! We accept and read submissions year-round both via regular mail and online, so submit your work to us today.

Editor’s Prize
Recent winners of our Editors’ Prize include Anna Solomon, George Looney, John Hales, Christina Hutchins, Seph Murtagh, Fiona McFarlane, Roy Kesey, Jacob Appel, Johnathan Fink, Valerie Laken, Mary Yukari Waters, Derek Mong, Danielle Ofri, and just to name a few. Many of our winners were published in The Missouri Review before their first books had ever been published.
