The fiction writers here at The Missouri Review, me included, like to crack jokes about how little time poets actually spend working, so as penance, I’ve decided to devote a posting to poetry. One of the great features of the internet (in addition to its distractions–curses to you, Mike) is that you can now listen to poems online. Readings tend to sound a little tinny on my computer, but that’s largely because my computer walks with a limp and wears an eyepatch. A few good places to listen are Slate, The Atlantic, The Academy of American Poets’ website, and Laurable.com. These sites are nice reminders of poetry’s aural power.
