Jennifer Richter is a former Stegner Fellow and Jones Lecturer at Stanford University. For four years she led poetry workshops for recovering substance abusers at the Delancey Street Foundation in San Francisco. She currently lives in Oregon, teaching poetry in elementary schools and at Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility. Her work has appeared in Open City, Crab Orchard Review, Poetry, Ploughshares, A Fierce Brightness: Twenty-five Years of Women’s Poetry and elsewhere. Her manuscript “Threshold” has been a finalist in twenty major book competitions, including the 2008 New Issues Poetry Prize and the 2008 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry Open Competition.
