Jeremy Jackson

Jeremy Jackson attended Vassar College and the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He’s the author of the novels Life at These Speeds and In Summer, both published by St. Martin’s Press, and the recipient of a James Michener-Copernicus Society of America Fellowship and a Henfield Prize for Fiction. In addition he has authored two cookbooks. “Food, Animals” is a chapter from his memoir in progress. He lives in Iowa City, Iowa. [2005]

The way it woked is that we would stop at Alvina’s house about once a week, either on the way home from Jefferson City or having come from school in Russville. If you volunteered or were conscripted into service, you opened the car door and stepped onto the white pebbles if Alvina’s driveway.
