Julyan G. Peard

Julyan G. Peard was brought up in Argentina; she lived in England for six years, lived in New York for twelve years and currently lives in San Francisco, where she teaches Latin American history. She has published Race, Place, and Medicine: The Idea of the Tropics in 19th Century Brazil with Duke University Press and several articles on Latin American themes. She has written fiction for over a decade and finds her work as a historian an endless source of inspiration for her stories. [2009]
