Recently The Missouri Review has begun accepting submissions online and I have had the pleasure of reading fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. So far, the venture has been successful. People all over the US have been sending us exceptional work and we are all excited about the interest this option has received. One of the first international manuscripts that we received online was accepted and published last year—Mark Kline’s excellent story “The Shortest Distance Between Me and the World” (26.2 2003).

Instead of the standard ten-week response time that accompanies a mailed submission, online submissions will be read and responded to within ten business days.

Instead of the hassle of having to deal with stamps, envelopes, and return envelopes, online submitters pay three dollars for our handling and printing out the manuscript.

Anyone with questions may contact our office staff using the email address for manuscript questions.
